4 DIRECTIONS  YOUTH PROGRAM
FUNDED THROUGH THE CULTURAL CONNECTIONS FOR ABORIGINAL YOUTH INITIATIVE

As part of the Cultural Connections for Aboriginal Youth Initiative (CCAY), the Four Directions Youth Program is for Aboriginal, Non-Aboriginal, Metis and Inuit Youth between the ages of 13 to 24.

The primary goal of the Four Directions Youth Program is to provide youth with a wide range of inclusive activities, programs and services that are locally controlled and designed in conjunction with Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal Youth.

Furthermore to achieving this goal, these programs, activities and services are structured in a manner that address the challenges that youth face today, and to give them empowerment to determine their own future, with a sense of pride, integrity and assurance in a safe and culturally relevant environment.

We are confident that The Four Directions Youth Program, with new and existing partnerships will meet the overall needs of the Youth in an urban setting.  The Four Directions Youth Program provides accessible, community based, culturally relevant activities, programs and services that are designed to develop the skills and knowledge of youth.

The 5 components that make up the 4 Directions Youth Program consist of:

Cultural Development

Life Skills and Wellness

Youth Engagement

Leadership Development

Community Engagement
