UPCOMING EVENTS FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH

 * Unless otherwise stated, participants need to be registered with a Timmins Native Friendship Centre Program to partake in activities.

PROGRAMS/PROGRAMMING:

Akwe:go Naheywatiiseewin 

Will have Gym Night at the Flora Mac each Monday (from 5:30-6:30pm) this month with the exception of Monday March 15.  In addition to this, the 'Seeing Red' Program will take place every Tuesday for the month of March from 4:00-6:00pm.  Please call Kristin Murray, Akwe:go Naheywatiiseewin worker at 268-6262 ext. 224 for more details.

Family Support Program

The Family Support Program will be having Family Craft & Sewing (Parental Relief Provided) from 1:15-3:30pm every Tuesday of this month with the exception of Tuesday March 16.  These are the scheduled dates of March 2, 9, 23rd and 30th.  Every Thursday from 1:00-3:00pm will feature Parents & Tots Snow Shoeing with the exception of Thursday March 18.  The Family Support Program will also host a Family Brunch & Movie from 11:00-12:00 on Friday March 5 and a Family Brunch & Movie on Friday March 19 from 11:00-1:00pm.  Please call Linda St. Germain, Family Support Program Coordinator at 268-6262 ext. 226 for more details.

Life Long Care

The Life Long Care Program will be conducting social activities and sewing circles after every Community Soup Kitchen on Tuesdays of this month from 1:00-3:00pm.  There will be a parent and elder bingo from 1:00-3:00pm on Wednesday March 3 as well as an LLC Breakfast from 9:30-11:00am on the 10th.  LLC will also have bowling from 1:00-3:00pm on March 19.  The LLC Program will also host a Nutrition Bingo on Thursday March 11 from 1:00-3:00pm with a snack provided.  Please call Darlene Isaac, Life Long Care Support Worker at 268-6262, ext. 227 or Mike Koostachin, Life Long Care Support Worker at 268-6262, ext. 229 for additional details.

Akwe:go

Will be having Family Drumming from 7:00-9:00pm on Thursday March 4, 2010 and on Thursday March 11, 2010 from 7:00-9:00pm.  A Family Brunch will be held on Friday March 19 from 11:00-1:00pm.  In addition to these activities, Akwe:go will have the "Seeing Red" Program in conjunction with Akwe:go Naheywatiiseewin beginning on Tuesday February 16th and continuing every Tuesday for 6 weeks.  Please speak with Douglas Davey at 268-6262, ext. 244 for additional details. 

Wasa-Nabin

Will have March Break activities for the week of March 15-19.  There will be tubing, skating, bowling, swimming and a Matinee.  Please contact Vicky Chevrier at 268-6262 ext. 237 for additional details.

Aboriginal Prenatal Nutrition Program

Will have Prenatal/Postnatal one to one from 9:00am-12:00pm on Monday March 1.  On Tuesday March 2, 9, 23 and 30, there will be a Family Circle/Crafts from 1:15-3:30pm.  There will also be a Baby & Me Swim on Tuesday March 16 from 3:00-4:00pm.  On Thursday March 4 from 10:00-1:00pm, Prenatal will have an Easy Cooking Class and a Family Breakfast CLub on Friday March 19 from 11:00-1:00pm.
