The Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) will strive to provide a variety of services for the At-imminent risk of homelessness and homeless population of Moosonee.
The HPS will offer food security. The objective of food security is to reduce hunger by providing supplementary food which include the provision/delivery of a:
Drop In Centre – The objective of the Drop in Centre to provide a friendly environment where support services are available for youth and adults. The Drop in Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. located at 14a Moose Drive. Drop In Centre provides:
- Support Counselling
- Advocacy
- Referrals
- Outreach
- Life Skills
- Character Building
- Employability Skills
- Healthy Snacks/Meals/Coffee/Tea/Juice/Water
Outreach Meals
Emergency Discretionary Fund – The objective of the Emergency Discretionary Fund is to support the activity and circumstance that require Emergency Assistance will be determined on a needed basis and the severity of the situation. The Emergency Discretionary Fund will address such needs as:
- Emergency shelter supports
- Medical/hygiene kits
- Blankets
- Transportation Services
- Purchase of identifications
In addition, the HPS will also collaborate with other TNFC programs and other service providers to ensure additional supports to enhance his/her daily living.
The HPS worker will also provide supports to the targeted population who request assistance in locating housing and locating emergency assistance as needed.
